First United Church of Christ is accessible to all with hearing devices, large print bulletins and handicapped accessible restrooms, pew cuts and a level, one story floor plan. All are welcome.
Worship is blended and includes special services and meaningful symbols and music. The choir is especially adept at setting the tone of worship with a variety of anthems and different styles of music, lay persons assist with the children’s message and liturgy, and the church is served by an ordained pastor and a licensed minister.
The church participates in a number of community arenas such as Habitat for Humanity, the food pantry and ecumenical worship services. Both the pastor and licensed minister contribute time to the hospital as volunteer chaplains and in other service to the community. With the expansion of the church facility, there is now more space for Vacation Bible School, blood drives, recreation, church meetings and fundraisers. Outside groups use the space for meetings and social events. It has been wonderful having the additional space.
